Whole Meal Short Bread

Ingredients

270g Plain Flour
60g whole Meal Flour
150g Caster sugar
220g Sun Flower Margarine

Method

- Pre heat the oven to 160c and line a baking sheet with lightly greased parchment paper
- Mix all of the ingredients together well in the mixer or by hand and work into a soft paste
- Roll the paste into a cylinder 3-4cm in diametre and cut into 1.5cm thick slices
- Lay each slice on the baking sheet and press the prongs of a fork into the top surface to give a pattern
- Aternatively, roll the paste out into a 11/2cm thick slab and lay it onto the baking sheet,
- Stab the paste randomly across it's area with the prongs of a fork to allow the warm air to reach the centre of the biscuit during cooking.
- Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the dough is dry but only slightly coloured.
