2nd February 2010 - '100 Group' Conference at Kingsford Community School
Kingsford Community School in Beckton, East London recently hosted the "100 Group" Annual Conference.
The "100 Group" is a consortium of 50 State Education and 50 Independent Education Head Teachers, of which Kingsford Community School is a member.
The group meets to influence government on future Education policies and working practices.
Kingsford also works very closely with Brighton College who are also part of the group, whereby a limited number of State Education pupils are offered scholarships at Brighton College which operates in the Independent sector.
The Conference this year centred on "Social Mobility" and began with a message from the Prime Minister read by Richard Cairns, Head Master Brighton College
Keynote Speakers included:
• Rt Hon Vince Cable MP, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats
• Barnaby Lenon Head Master of Harrow School
• Professor David Clary, FRS President of Magdalen College Oxford
• Michael Gove MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools & Families
• Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP, Treasury Secretary
• Tessa Sanderson, Olympian
• Anthony Little, Head Master Eton College
• Joan Deslandes, Head Teacher Kingsford Community School
Cater Link were proud to cater for total 300 guests on the day, serving breakfast on arrival and lunch in a marquee that had been raised in one of the school gymnasiums. School teachers on their inset day were also catered for at lunchtime in the school foyer.
Thanks go to the onsite team and Area Operations Managers led by Kingsford Catering Manager and School Governor Diane Carter. Steve Acton Cater Link Executive Chef and his team provided help and assistance for a delicious three course plated lunch that consisted of:
Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon with Marinated Artichokes
served with a Wild Cress and Rocket salad
Roasted supreme of Corn Fed Chicken on Crushed New Potatoes,
Steamed Curly Kale with Roasted Root Vegetables
and a Thyme & Red Wine Jus
Mascarpone & Vanilla Cheesecake
Musical entertainment at lunch time was provided by the "Brighton College" Barbershop Choir
